Project Overview

The Two Dorothies are tandem tudor-style heritage homes originally located on Vancouver’s west side. After three months of planning, the homes were relocated and reclaimed as a multi-family townhome complex just a few blocks away. The move, which included the dismantling of trolley wires and power lines along the route, was facilitated by Trasolini Construction and Nickel Bros.

Avoiding demolition, the Two Dorothies now exist as eight contemporary inner city townhomes. In the process of modernizing these heritage homes, we were responsible not only for the retrofit of the original 1930s era electrical system, but also the electrical construction of new building additions to accommodate additional tenants. This project required a high-level of resourcefulness and, ultimately, generated enough local buzz that made the property very marketable.

  • Relocated and restored as eight townhomes
  • Electrical retrofit of original 1930s era construction
  • Awarded Heritage Building status by the City of Vancouver
