King Edward Villa

Inspired by Passive House principles and the City of Vancouver’s ambition of becoming net-zero by 2030, King Edward Villa is a six-storey rental building so efficient that a 500 square foot studio is projected to pay $60 a year in heating. In order to achieve this, the building’s envelope and exterior air barrier work together to achieve a low-carbon output.

Commissioned by Performance Construction, we partnered on all on-site electrical right through to completion in 2016. The mixed-use development is primarily electrically heated and, as a result of these efficiencies, we played a large role in achieving LEED Platinum status.
